GRACE AND CORACLE: A Celtic Legend And Song For The Labyrinth

The Voyage Of St. Brendan chronicles the wondrous journey of a Celtic saint and his companions “through the labyrinth” to the Isle Of Promise and back home again. In this retelling of an ancient Celtic legend, bardic harper and healer Jane Valencia guides listeners into a spiritual landscape that mirrors the labyrinth walk in which we all are upon — a pathway filled with darkness and light, confusions and marvels, encounters with “the beast” and the company of angels. Enjoy the tale, learn a Celtic chant, and experience how we are all in the little boat of ourselves — navigating a labyrinth path
encompassed, sheltered, and brightened by Grace.

NATURE’S GRACE: Create A Labyrinth Poem of Blessing

A wander through a garden or even a glimpse through a window can be a labyrinth walk into wonder and blessing. In this workshop we will connect with the magic of the natural world, and uncover a specific blessing it has for us in this moment. We will each create a simple and fun three line poem to evoke this gift for ourselves.

A long-time lover of labyrinths, Celtic harper and bardic healer Jane Valencia nourishes a Spirit-centered, nature-woven life and an illuminated sense of oneself with her music, tales, teachings, and artistry.

Coming This Sunday a.m. ~ Radio Interview on Wheel Of Wonder

I’m honored to be an interview guest on Ray Simpkins’ radio show Wheel Of Wonder. The show itself is from 6 a.m to 9 a.m. PST, and will celebrate Midwinter/Yule.

I will be on the show from 8 a.m-9 a.m. PST on Sunday, Dec. 19.

To listen via streaming audio, click here – KAOS 89.3FM.

I hope you’ll join us. Ray (who is a bard himself) and I intend to have a fun conversation about midwinter, bardic expression in its many forms, medicine animal and plant medicine lore, and follow wherever the magic leads us! You’ll also hear midwinter musical selections from my various recordings.

Cheers!

Under Starlight: A Celtic harp improvisation

Here is an improvisation in Lydian mode (a kind of scale) that skips briefly into Mixolydian mode, then slides back again. My younger daughter and I are reading lots of books about fairies these days, thus I envision Lydian Mode Fairy skipping along in the starlight, briefly taking hands with Mixolydian Fairy before dancing away to breathe in the cool night air, the flowers (petals now closed), and listen to the sweet music of the heavens …. is that overly fanciful? :-). Anyway, I invite you to enjoy the music!
